The above picture is of former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and me at the Localise Peace Corp awards in the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Bolton Street at which I received an award from Mr. Ahern for the charity work I done during my time in DIT.

I was put forward for this award by Sister Mary Flanagan DIT Chaplin which whom I worked closely with for a number of years in DIT.

 

Boystown Lumbia, Philippines - June 2005

The above photo is of the boys of Lumbia Boystown (A home for street children) together with Donna (my wife) and myself (we are in the centre).

Pretty much everything you see in the photo, from the boys slippers to their cloths and bags were donated from funds I raised in Ireland, the majority of the donations came from Noyeks Newmans and their staff.

Holy child Orphanage / HGC Orphanage Philippines - June 2007

The above picture is a group picture of the late Sr. Celelia Vileagas (R.I.P) Resident Directress of the Holy Child Orphanage, the children of the then Holy Child Orphanage and myself. At the time I was the International Fundraising Manager in the Holy Child Orphanage. In August 2007 the Holy Child Orphanage closed and the children were turned over to the Department of Social welfare and development (DSWD). Later that year in September, myself and Mr. Mark Congdon an Irish Businessman and Philanthropists together with a small team of former Holy Child Orphanage employees founded the HGC Orphanage on the same site that the Holy Child Orphanage stood. In late September the DSWD turned over the care of the children of the Holy Child Orphanage to the HGC Orphanage, i.e. returning the children to what they considered their home.

The main goal of the HGC Orphanage was to try and reunite the children with distant relatives with the aim of where appropriate building their family relations and possibly fostering or adoption of the children by the family. Formal sponsorship programs where established to help the adoptive families with the added costs of an extra child or in some cases (siblings) children.

HGC Orphanage Philippines - July 2008

The above photo is me with some of the children from the HGC Orphanage, Philippines. This picture was taken during my trip to the Philippines after the death of Sister Celelia Vileagas Resident Directress of the Holy Child Orphanage (R.I.P).

Following the death of Sr. Vileagas I appeared on ABS/CBN's TV Patrol, (A Philippine News Investigation Show) in a three part special investigating a number of people trying to extort money and land from the Holy Child Orphanage and the HGC Orphanage. As a result of this TV Patrol investigation and my evidence the Orphanage property which was originally titled to the late Sr. Vileagas was donated to the Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro City.

The above picture was taken outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin on my Graduation day. I graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with an Honors Degree in Business Computing. This is the result of seven years in university which started in the Philippines, took me to Korea and ended in Dublin...One of my proudest moments.....
